Royal Outdoor Products, Who We Are
CTB had been producing vinyl products for the agricultural industry since 1982. Because of the company's extensive experience with agricultural-grade PVC, its research and development team designed and patented an interlocking fence system using round posts and round rails. Next they formulated a high-quality, weather-resistant vinyl that stayed beautiful year after year and was strong enough to safely contain horses, thus pioneering a new industry - vinyl horse fencing. From there CTB began experimenting with vinyl decking. The company was located in a rural county with 110 lakes and the idea floated around about developing a vinyl plank for dock owners who were tired of regularly repairing and replacing their docks. In 1987 CTB introduced the Brock Dock brand of vinyl docks. Before long, people were asking CTB if they could use the dock planks as deck planks for their homes. Because of this demand, CTB developed the Brock Deck System for residential decks. In 1997, Royal Group Technologies Limited, a leading manufacturer of polymer-based home improvement, consumer and construction products, purchased the vinyl extrusion manufacturing operations. The new company was named Royal Outdoor Products. In the late 1990s, the company refined, improved upon and developed the deck system concept so that builders and contractors could buy all the components of a deck - deck planks, rails and guard railings - all together, instead of piece by piece. Royal Outdoor Products continues to be a leader in the design and manufacture of vinyl fencing and decking products with the development of a radical, new vinyl decking system called Deck Lok. This latest innovation features a patent-pending snap connection system that makes installation quicker and easier. Still located in Milford, Indiana, Royal Outdoor Products's corporate and
manufacturing operations are housed in a 130,000-square-foot, state-of-the-art
facility. |
