Pioneering an Industry
It was a horsewoman’s desire to protect and secure her show horses that
challenged our R & D team and helped pioneer a new industry - vinyl
horse fencing.
- Based on our parent company’s extensive experience with agricultural-grade
PVC, we designed and patented an interlocking fence system using
round posts and round rails.
- The next step was to formulate a high-quality weather-resistant
vinyl that stayed beautiful year after year and was strong enough
to safely contain horses.
Avoiding Work
We admit it! We invented the first vinyl dock planks to avoid work. In
1988, the Brock Dock brand became the first marketed vinyl plank for fresh
and salt-water docks and marinas. We were tired of regularly repairing
and replacing our lakeside dock and so were our neighbors.“Why not build
a vinyl dock?” we asked. With years of experience producing Triple Crown
Fence, we already had the perfect vinyl formula. Hundreds of R & D
hours later (of course, we volunteered our own dock as a test location),
our experienced engineering staff had the solution to our annoying dock
problems.
In Our Own Backyard
Our residential fence line began in the early ’90s to satisfy our Post
& Rail customers wanting the same maintenance-free qualities for their
homes and gardens.
Another Brilliant Idea
If Brock Dock could perform season after season on frigid northern lakes
and in sun-baked southern marinas, why not use it in our very own backyard?
We took our experience with heavy-use marinas and docks and transformed
our vinyl dock system into the best vinyl deck in the world - Brock Deck.
